So, you are looking for how to trace a mobile phone number maybe because you are trying to locate someone and all you have is a mobile phone number. Maybe a particular mobile telephone number just strangely show up on your phone bill.

There are so many reasons as to why any one would want to locate someone by a mobile phone number. Thankfully it is not half as hard to trace a mobile phone number as it was in the past.

These days, any one who have a computer and an internet connection can easily carry out simple investigative search such as tracing a mobile phone number.

You can look up the details of the owner of the telephone number you are trying to trace on Google, msn, yahoo, ask.com, digg, reddit, twitter, Facebook, MySpace, technocrati and the like. To use any of these sites, you need to enter the said number into the search boxes of these sites, click search and then look through one or three pages of the display result to see if something tangible pops up from the search.

This method works well for telephone numbers that are associated with a company or business and does work for private telephone numbers due to those who have the habit of leaving or entering their mobile telephone numbers and their other personal details on their favorite social bookmarking or social network sites where the internet search engines can find and display them.

Using the above method is a very good way to trace a mobile phone number but it effectiveness is directly dependent on if the owner of the said number has ever intentionally or unintentionally listed his or her phone number any where on the internet.

One sure-fire way to trace someone using their mobile phone number is to use paid reverse phone lookup directories. With a paid directory, you can easily get the details of the person a particular telephone number is registered to by entering the said number into a search box, click search, pay a little and get the details you have been desperately looking for.

There are so many paid directories available on the internet but unfortunately not all of these paid reverse phone lookup directories are good or can be trusted. Below are some tips on how to choose a good and reliable reverse phone lookup directory.

1) Never sign up with with a directory that makes you pay a fee up front. This is the sign of a disreputable reverse phone lookup site. Also, never pay money until you are sure the number you are trying to trace is available on the site’s database.

2) Only sign up with a site that has a very good refund policy.

Many technology consultants decide to add being a computer reseller to their list of client solutions. This can help give consultants control over the total solution and solve very complex business problems.

But if you want to be a computer reseller who is profitable and successful at catering to the needs of your small business clients, you will need to pay attention to many different responsibilities besides just those related to products. How can you make sure you are balancing your function as a computer reseller with your job to solve bigger small business problems through technology?

The following 4 tips can help you manage all the responsibilities that go along with being a successful computer reseller and consultant in the small business market.

Coordinate Telecommunications and Internet Solutions. With your small business clients, you will probably need to coordinate your own technology support and product installation with the local telephone company or Internet service provider. You will need to research which types of connections are needed and how they will work together to facilitate a sophisticated network.
Test, Test, Test. As part of delivering a complete, soup-to-nuts IT solution, your computer reseller firm should get involved in vertical industry-niched applications. You may bring the vertical applications in, but your clients might also ask you to test the application before they make a major investment. This way, you’ll control application selection and be able to coordinate application selection with other products you recommend, sell or purchase for them. You will also have to evaluate how vertical applications fit in with your clients’ networks.
Be Prepared to Train the Guru … or the Masses. Even if you think training won’t be a part of your duties as a computer reseller or you don’t want to do it, you will inevitably have to be involved at some point. Sometimes you will have to conduct formal end-user training where you take small groups aside and show new users an application or a new piece of hardware. Other times, you will have to help the internal guru through informal training. Training the internal guru can often help train others on routine technology matters — i.e., lost toolbar or taskbar recovery, simple troubleshooting — so you can free up time to help with more complicated issues that more easily cost-justify your high hourly billing rates.
Expect Disaster. Another responsibility you will have to take on with small businesses is disaster recovery planning. You will have to check out the data backup system, the antivirus software, the power protection and the security. You will also need to develop a proactive maintenance plan for your clients.

Your biggest value to your clients, even if you decide to be a computer reseller alongside other services, is in your problem solving and strategic planning. In order to build a strong company, you need to make selling complete small business solutions a priority over just reselling products.

In this short article we discussed 4 tips to help you manage all the responsibilities that go along with being a successful computer reseller and consultant in the small business market.

You would not let your children go out on their own without first warning them about the dangers of speaking with strangers, so why would you let them surf the net without supervision? You should have a frank discussion of internet safety tips for kids with your children at least once, and more often if you think it is necessary.

Children need to be aware of what they should and should not do when they use the computer, so you should advise them of these internet safety tips for kids:

Never give your personal information to anyone, especially your real name, age, where you live or your phone number. If someone asks for this information, tell a parent immediately.
Never agree to a meeting in person with someone you met online. If they insist on it, tell your parents. You should never agree to such a meeting unless your parents approve and will be there.
Never post photos of yourself online and never send a photo to someone you do not know. If someone is asking for a photo, tell your parents.
Never sign up for any website or pay for anything without asking your parents. If you need an email account or to sign up for a website, do not use your real name or any personal information as your user name.
Never give anyone your passwords or user name to any of your accounts.
Never tell anyone you chat with online if you are home alone or when you will be home alone.
Never answer emails from strangers.
If you are chatting with someone and you feel uncomfortable about the direction the conversation is taking, tell a parent immediately.
As a parent, you should discuss internet safety tips for kids so that they know of the dangers that await them online and how they can avoid becoming a victim. You could also use a keylogger to make sure your kids are safe online. Using a keylogger will allow you to secretly view everything thats been going on on the childs computer without them actually knowing – including e-mail, chat and the websites visited.

Beginners in internet marketing will face many hurdles when they are learning how to make money online. There is one problem that can almost be 100% guaranteed to afflict the internet marketing beginner. The problem is “information overload”.

Information overload is virtually impossible to avoid. The good news is that it is easy to diagnose. If you want to know how to deal with information overload, follow these tips.

How to diagnose information overload

Diagnosing information overload is easy. One of the key symptoms is being unable to shake off the belief that your brain is melting inside your skull. Now you might say nobody knows what that feels like. Nobody has had their brain melt and survived to describe the experience. True, but you will know the feeling when it attacks you – and it will strike sooner or later.

You will find yourself working as hard as you can but feeling as if you are getting nowhere. You will probably reach the stage where you don’t even want to check your email because it will contain more new stuff for you to learn about. Information overload causes many people to give up internet marketing before they have properly started.

Causes of information overload

When you begin learning about internet marketing you are dealing with a totally new subject. Sure, internet marketing has things in common with other kinds of marketing. Take a retail store for instance. They both need stuff to sell, they both need to advertise, customers are vital to making money online or offline. The similarities are easy to see. The differences are the things that swamp beginners. The problems are in the “how” rather than the “what”. For instance, without a shop window, how do you show off the merchandise you want to sell online?

Beginners at internet marketing will need to find the answers to many questions. That brings us to the root cause of information overload. There are too many answers. Or, to be more accurate, there are too many people trying to provide you with the answers. In fact, most of these helpful people will try to give you answers to problems you don’t have, but might experience in the future. All these people will be attempting to persuade you that their answer is the best solution to any problem you might ever have.

How to deal with information overload

The best way of dealing with information overload is to avoid it in the first place. That might sound a bit like the advice to take an aspirin half an hour before your headache starts. Just like the aspirin, avoidance techniques can still be effective even if you start them later than recommended. If you are struggling with beginning internet marketing, you can cure information overload even if you have started to experience the pain.

The first thing to do is to make a plan. If you are already noticing the signs of impending information overload, take a couple of days off. Don’t go online; don’t even touch your computer. I know from personal experience that you won’t want to do this. You will want to keep working because there is so much to learn. You will feel that you will get left behind in the internet race if you take time off.

I can promise you that you won’t get left behind. When you come back, clear headed and refreshed, you will catch up and take great strides forward.

Planning to succeed

As an internet marketing beginner, your first draft of a plan is bound to be vague. You are starting from zero but a goal of “learn everything about internet marketing as fast as possible” is not going to help you much. You need to structure your working day so that you won’t fall into the trap of browsing for hours and achieving nothing. Set certain times for research, checking email, taking tutorials, checking online resources. Earmark some time for “emergencies”.

Having set your times, don’t try to make them flexible. Stick rigidly to your schedule; if something looks interesting, bookmark it to go back to it later. That is what your “emergency” time is for. When you are further along the internet marketing road, you might need to cope with emergencies, or you might just use that time for extra leisure. As a beginner, you can make good use of the built in leeway of spare time to browse to your heart’s content.

Choosing a marketing coach

Ensure that you are in control of your business right from the start. This means avoiding those programs that offer to give you a pre built marketing website. The advertising for these programs will tell you that it is a completely “turn key” business; you don’t need to know anything about building websites. It will claim that all you need to do to make money is promote the website.

If you sign up to one of these programs you will usually find that you are paying fairly high membership fees and getting very little in return. The website you are given will usually turn out to be a non-customisable affiliate link. You can get affiliate links free of charge.

The quality of training offered by these programs varies, and can be pretty good, but it is better to find a program where you can develop a website that can be expanded and improved as your business takes off.

Is your computer misbehaving for reasons you cannot understand? Are hardware devices not working well, and do you get a lot of error messages? If your computer has slowed down to the extent that you can barely use it, or if your screen frequently hangs, the problem is easy to diagnose. Your computer is behaving in this manner because your registry is cluttered. The only way you can restore your computer to its original speed and performance is by doing a Windows Registry cleanup.

In case you do not know, Windows Registry is a very important system file. It is the store house of all the details regarding your computer. The Registry is designed to store information of everything that Windows does, such as URLs of all the pages you visit and all your start menu shortcuts, to name just two. As you can very well imagine, your Registry can become cluttered in a very short while because of all the activities you are doing on your computer. It can very easy be filled with empty destinations and unused drivers and other software.

The problem arises because Windows is not as efficient at cleaning up the Registry as it is at filling it. It becomes a repository of a whole lot of useless data, software etc. This causes your computer to behave in the way it does. In order to affect a Windows Registry cleanup you will have to first scan the complete registry for any obsolete entries that are just taking up valuable space in it. Once you have obtained a list of registry errors, you have to clean them up.

It would be prudent to make a backup of any repairs that you do as part of Windows Registry cleanup because you can still retain the option of recovering them should you realize that you have made a mistake deleting something.

If you clean, defrag and compact the Registry, you will have a lot of spare space in your computer. Your computer’s performance will improve again, and all will be well till the Registry gets filled all over again. It only means that you will have to do the process all over again. It is definitely worth going through the effort to have your computer’s performance increase manifold. If you do a Windows Registry cleanup regularly you will not have to worry about your computer crashing again.

If you use Microsoft Windows, look at the system tray and see how many icons are there. If you do not work at keeping them down to a minimum of two and not more than three. If you have a lot of icons and cut it down to two your computer will speed up. The system tray effects your computer system resources in which it needs to be high.

Speed up your PC is to use Disk Defragmentation. Your files will be stored neatly, without fragmentation, reading and writing to the disk speeds up. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk fragmentation.

The Disk Cleanup tool free up space on your hard disk. It identifies files that you can safely delete, and enables you to choose want to delete some or all of the identified files. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

As you use your hard drive can develop bad sectors. That slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing difficult, or even impossible. The Error Checking tool scans the hard drive for bad sectors, and for file system errors to see if you have certain misplaced files or folders on your hard drive.

The best way is to backup your computer [http://www.ebooks-mall.org/computer/] with Norton Ghost when it is running good, then if it slows down use your backup to restore your PC. This fast and easy, and you can use this if you are presented with most of the problems you have.

You’ve heard about it on TV or read about it in magazines – people having their identities stolen online. This can lead to thousands of dollars in debt or worse. There is good news, however. Most online stores now have very secure sites, and there are more and more ways of protecting your personal information both online and offline.

First, install programs to protect your computer from hackers and viruses. These include a good firewall, a virus scanner, and an adware/spyware scanner. Windows does include a free firewall program with it, so if you don’t want to download any other program, make certain the Windows firewall is up and running. When it comes to virus and spyware programs, you can either visit your local computer store for recommendations or download a free program online. Note that many free virus scanners are actually trial programs that expire, so be sure to read all the information so you don’t end up searching for another program or paying for a full version.

Once you have these programs installed on your computer, you’ll need to remember to run the virus scanner and spyware scanner on a regular basis (once a month is probably good). Your firewall will run by itself, although you will interact with it frequently at first as it learns which sites and programs are OK and which ones should be blocked.

Another tip on protecting your information is to be a smart online shopper. Generally, sites like Amazon.com, eBay, and online stores associated with trusted companies like Wal-Mart and Barnes & Noble are very secure, and you shouldn’t worry about entering any information on them. However, if a site you haven’t heard of before asks for your credit card, you should be cautious. Likewise, be wary of any site that doesn’t look like it was created by a professional – often, these sites are scams.

Along the same lines, watch for email hoaxes. Remember, no company is ever going to email you asking for your credit card number, password, or other personal information. The links in these emails almost always go to fake websites. Remember, the general rule of thumb is that if it looks at all suspicious, don’t enter any personal information.

Passwords are designed to offer protection, used as the “key” to a door that provides access to some very sensitive personal information. If this information got into the wrong hands, financial loss or identity theft could easily occur. Password theft and identity theft is more common today than ever – due to spyware, Trojans and phishing scams. Once a password has been compromised, an insurmountable amount of personal damage can occur in a matter of minutes. The more accounts your password works with, the greater the damage. For the best security, online account passwords should be different as well as difficult.

Safe Password Tips

Use passwords that are at least eight characters long.
Use a combination of upper and lower case letters, and include at least one number or special character. A “special character” is something like *, &, or -.
Never use your email password for anything other than your email account. Make sure all bank and credit card account passwords are different from each other.
Never use your name, birth date or social security number in a password. Change your passwords from time to time, especially bank account passwords. Never store passwords in a common document file (Excel, Word, Notepad, etc…) that is not protected by encryption.

Password Management

Most people tend not to use difficult and/or varied passwords, because password management can be a tedious and time consuming task. When we’re paying bills or shopping online, we want easy and instant access to our account so we can complete our tasks. It’s frustrating to get “bad password” error messages, and it’s a hassle to answer challenge questions in order to request a password reset. Because it’s nearly impossible to follow safe password practices without writing down all our passwords, the only way to securely manage passwords is to use some type of password management software.

There are two good options here, and both are easy and inexpensive. The easiest thing to do is to utilize file encryption software to protect the document that has the passwords stored on it. For this, I recommend something like Absolute Password Protector by Last Bit Software. They have a free trial version you can download to see how you like it. This software uses strong 128 bit encryption to securely encrypt any file you have stored on your computer – making it easy for you to access but very difficult for a thief to utilize. With this software, you can store all your passwords in a Word, Excel or text file and then encrypt that file to keep it secure.

Another good way to manage passwords is to use an encrypted database to store all of your password information. I use Passwords Plus by DataViz. This is designed to be used on a PDA, but I use it on my computer. Passwords Plus is easy and convenient, but the downside is you have to set up the database by keying in all your accounts and passwords. Both of these methods of password management cost around $29, and it is well worth it. Unlike a lot of software that requires a subscription to keep it functioning, password management software is a “one time” purchase.

Practicing Good Computer Security Habits Will Help Keep You Safe Online

Maintaining “difficult to guess” passwords is just one very important thing you can do to keep yourself safe online. There are many more things you can (and should) do to protect your computer and your data from cyber-thieves and malicious software. A few things to keep in mind are to use a good antivirus and anti-spyware software product, avoid downloading and installing “free” software (it usually contains spyware and/or adware) and never click links in emails that appear to come from a financial institution.

In a perfect world, you never pay for PC support because you know everything about computers and your PC never breaks down. Unfortunately, you live in the real world where every computer, regardless of quality, gets errors. But don’t lose hope yet. While you may not be a computer super genius, the tips listed below are easy enough to follow.

· Before you do any major changes in your computer, set up a System Restore Point. This will make it easier to recover your PC’s previous state in case problems occur.

Go to: Start > Programs > Accessories > System Restore >

Pick the option for setting a System Restore Point and click Next

Fill in a name and click Create > Close

· Inspect for viruses regularly. It’s also imperative that your anti-virus software is up to date. If you don’t have one yet, free programs are available on the internet which you can download like AVG, Avira and avast! There are also free online scanners like Housecall by Trend Micro.

· Complement your anti-virus with an anti-spyware program. Even the top anti-virus checkers cannot detect all corruptions such as spyware and malware. Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware by Lavasoft are great programs that get a lot of reviews and more importantly, they’re free! So you never pay for PC support regarding infections once you install and update these.

· You will also need a firewall if you have a high speed internet connection and tend to use it for long periods. Basically, a firewall should be able to protect you from hackers and offensive web sites. Windows Vista and XP have built-in firewalls. If your operating system does not include a paid-for firewall, you may download Comodo. It offers basic protection to advanced features that borders on extreme paranoia.

· Set up Windows to update automatically. This way, your computer will receive all relevant security updates to diminish many computer errors without any more effort on your part.

Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Automatic Updates > pick Automatic

· Having covered all security loopholes doesn’t mean that you can go ahead and download other stuff aside from the aforementioned. DO NOT download any unknown software from suspicious sites – unless you want to pay for a technician to clean your registry. Remember, the objective is to never pay for PC support ever! – Always do some research first and stick to trusted sites.

· Ideally, at least 400MB of space in C: drive must be free in order for Windows run fast. Free up space by safely removing any programs that you no longer use.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

· Also, Delete temporary files once a week. Run Disk Cleanup on your hard drives.

Go to: My Computer > right click on hard drives (C:) > Properties > Start

· Now that you’ve gotten rid of the junk. Your hard disk will have lots of gaps in it. Run the Disk Defragmenter to arrange everything. You will need to defragment at least once a month to reduce loading time.

Go to: Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

· Sometimes errors are created by hang-ups, crashes or power outages. And over time these errors will slow your PC down. Run Check Disk once a week to clean up any errors in your registry and keep your PC running smoothly.

Are you worried about internet safety dangers? In this article I am going to talk to you about how to keep your kids away from the dangers of the internet.

There are many different things online that can be dangerous to our children. Sometimes we don’t even think about the things that may be threatening them. There were a couple of mothers that I can think of that wish they would have thought about cyberbullying and figured out some way to help their kids before they hurt themselves. Let’s now go on to talk about how to keep your kids away from the dangers of the internet.

Take the Computer Away

This one your child or teenager would most likely be most upset with. I don’t suggest totally banning your kids from the internet since there are so many things that they can learn online.

Limit Computer Time

Limiting computer time makes it much less likely that kids are going to get into trouble. The longer that kids and even adults are online the more they “surf” instead of just going to the place that they originally thought they were going to check out their friend’s latest update.

Put the Computer in a Public Place

By putting the computer in a public place you can ensure that you know what they are looking at and that they are not going to be surfing through things that are not appropriate for them.

Get a Keylogger

If you can find a free trial for a keylogger I recommend that you try this option since this will allow your kids to go about their normal computer usage wherever they want. The only difference is that you will have access to everything that they are doing online and they will not even know.

Now you may think this is a little invasive but really the whole goal is to keep the kids safe and when you know what they are doing online this is going to keep them safe. Your kids will thank you in the long run.

If you were like me, then you always mean to “get around to it”, but “around” somehow never comes.

That was until one weekend and my hard drive failed, taking a very important project with it. Since the project was due that Monday, I frantically searched for the last backup to recover it.

Much to my dismay, the backup was over a week old and I had done at least 20 hours of work on it since then.

I spent the next 24 hours typing and redoing all that work!

Since then I have been very careful to make backups as often as possible. You should make a backup schedule and stick with it.

Naturally daily backups are the best but backups done on Monday-Wednesday-Friday are also good.

For business purposes, backups done only once a week just aren’t frequent enough. Think back over this last week and all the work you have done. Now just imagine trying to recreate all that by hand if you hard drive fails.

An excellent backup program is Acronis True Image, which can make an “image” of your entire hard drive. This allows you to be able to restore your operating system as well as your data to a new hard drive if you have to.

Another program that I have used to good effect is SyncBackSE. SyncBackSE not only backs up your data but will synchronize it as well. This is very handy when you trying to maintain documents and files between say a desktop computer user, a laptop user and remote office person carrying things home on a USB.

I would recommend you get both. Either one would be more than adequate for a small or home office, but with both you truly have all your backup bases covered.

There are many things to consider when buying a computer and it can be quite difficult if you do not know what you are looking for. Some of the things you will want to consider when looking for a computer will be storage size, memory size, screen quality, etc, however lets look at one of the fundamental decisions that consumers often get wrong when buying a computer. Should I buy a desktop computer or a laptop/notebook computer?

First off let’s look at obvious option, portability. By portability I simply mean are you looking for computer that will sit on a desk in your home and stay there or are you looking for a computer that you can move about the house and even take with you on the road to work. In the first instance you will probably want to settle for a desktop computer which is basically a unit which contains all the computer components and the screen, keyboard and mouse are separate. These types of computer a normally the most powerful of home computing and will be able to deliver you high end performance, the only one down side is that they are not very portable since there are many different separate components.

On the second instance you will be looking more to go with a laptop or notebook computer. A notebook computer is a computer that houses the computer components, screen, keyboard and mouse all in one. These types of computer come with a screen that folds in and out and only weigh a few kilograms so that you are able to carry them where ever you go. But as you could guess, with this portability comes a little less performance ability since the computer is quite small and can only hold a certain amount of hardware.

As I said above one other key thing to consider is how much power will you be needing in your computer, this is very important to consider if you are going to be using your computer for high end graphics, audio and video. If you require a computer that is going to need to deliver a lot of power than it is probably safe to go with a desktop computer since they will be able to give you the latest in technology advancement and will be able to do your job to the highest ability. On the other hand if you are after a computer that is just required for day to day stuff and business than you defiantly just settle for a notebook computer that will fulfill this plus give you the portability factor.

Anyway there is a quick insight into the differences of desktop computer to laptop/notebook computer and some of the key pros and cons that each comprise of. Remember to consider these when you are going out to buy a computer and make sure that when you do so always consult a person that knows what they are talking about so they can help you out even further.
